Practising is the only way to master any craft, so since coming towards the end of my deadlines I wanted to shoot more on my film camera.
I’m still trying to figure out what mistakes I’m making whilst photographing but film is a lot more forgiving even if it doesn’t come out the way you intend.
Over the past month, I’ve had various outings and also visited my family home, and had my Zenit with me to document these moments. Firstly, I wanted to visit a park which is currently very close to where I live, and whilst my time in this location is coming to an end, I wanted to capture the sheer beauty of it whilst there’s so much beauty there.
Being at home with my family is always such a nice experience, especially since I’ve not been able to visit as often as I’d like. Since the recent sunny weather and with spring being in full swing, I’ve been drawn to the garden in particular. An outside space of my own is something I don’t have whilst I’m at uni, so I’ve come to really appreciate it when I’m visiting my family.
Earlier in the year, when I began my final major project, I had a few trips home to document my family’s current surrounding compared to archives of our home in Poland. Since then, I have noticed certain aspects of my home which I admire, which displays a sense of comfort within this surrounding.
In the past month I have also been to Manchester a fair few times to print my book for my project, so I took this opportunity to shoot there too.
Experiencing these different environment whilst shooting on film has been really interesting as I feel that this past year has really enhanced my knowledge within photography.
